Microsoft’s Spartan Web Browser: Internet Explorer is a web browser powered by Microsoft. Internet Explorer is a most popular web browser and it was also reported to be most widely used web browser in 2014 with 58 percent of users, according to NetApplications. Though it is a widely used web browser, many of the users now prefer alternatives of Internet Explorer such as Google Chrome and Firefox.  The reason being, heavy weight and less user friendly interface of Internet Explorer as compared to Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. So the most Innovative Company, Microsoft, decided to substitute Internet Explorer with a new web browser, and named it SPARTAN. Yes, you read that right. With the release of most awaiting Windows 10, Microsoft is going to ship Spartan Web Browser. Spartan Web Browser is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year.

Mary Jo Foley (Microsoft Analyst) reported that Spartan Web Browser could ship alongside Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10. Microsoft decided to build a new web browser from the scratch and named it as Spartan Web Browser. The name sounds cool, isn’t it? Spartan Web Browser is packed with some exciting features that you guys are surely going to love. Some of the features of Spartan Web Browser are described in the next section.

FEATURES OF SPARTAN WEB BROWSER

This section is devoted to the features of upcoming Spartan Web Browser from Microsoft. So, here are the features that Spartan is going to offer:

  • Spartan is much more light weighted as compared to the previous bulky Internet Explorer web browser.
  • The Spartan also includes an extension support.
  • The brand new Spartan will be available for desktops as well as Windows Phone. Though the Spartan for Windows Phone is expected to be released a bit later.
  • Technically, Spartan web browser is going to utilize Microsoft’s Chakra Javascript engine and Trident Page rendering engine.
  • Spartan is said to have a similar look and feel as of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
  • One of the coolest features of Spartan is its Note Taking Mode. This will allow the users to draw directly on the webpage, which captures the images, and lets you collaborate with others by adding comments and notifications.
  • Spartan will provide a reading mode too. In this mode, you are allowed to rearrange web views as per your requirement.
  • Now there is good news for Cortana lovers. Spartan will be equipped with full fledged support of Cortana.
